We are incredibly excited to welcome Oluwatosin Popoola as Lead Research Scientist at Clarus Labs! 🎉 Tosin will be leading research as Principal Investigator for our Phase 1 STTR, as well as driving future research and development. His work is a perfect match for our long-term vision of delivering quantitative, portable, and near real-time quality monitoring to the meat and pet food industries.
During his PhD studies at Clarkson University, he developed edible, biodegradable 3D-printed sensors that literally change color to show when food is losing freshness. In lab and packaging tests these nanocellulose-reinforced hydrogel films were stronger, flexible, and delivered clear, reliable color shifts that flagged spoilage in meat and fish over several days. That’s smart, sustainable packaging you can actually see working.
Beyond this breakthrough, Tosin brings deep expertise in 3D-printable functional materials and biosensing, plus a strong record of teaching, mentoring, and community leadership. We are excited for the new ideas and momentum he will add to our team. 🔬🚀
Welcome to Clarus Labs, Tosin! 🎉 We’re thrilled to have you on board and can’t wait to see how your work helps reduce food waste and bring real-time freshness monitoring to market!
